Ferrari lovers head out for Gilligan’s Island 2009 Special Event Charity Fund Raiser and Car Show

Gilligan’s Island

Charity Event benefiting the Chesapeake Bay Hospice Center

www.hospicechesapeake.org

Saturday, June 6 (11:00 – 5:00pm)

[Rain Date: Sunday, June 7]

Members and friends of the Ferrari Club of the Mid-Atlantic region will be gathering this Saturday June 6, 2009 [or Sunday June 7, 2009 if rain sets in] for a very special special afternoon car show event.

Ferrari Dino will be on display at the Gilligan's Island 2009 Event

Ferrari Dino will be on display at the Gilligan's Island 2009 Event

Rallying at the Maryland waterfront estate of Dennis and Peggy Gilligan, car owners from all over the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic region will be showcasing more than 50 privileged Ferraris, all pristine and displayed Concours D’Elegance style at this second annual summer kick-off party event. There’s more news however, as the Italianizzato Club muscle has been hard at work again. Just this week, host Dennis Gilligan has expressly agreed to extend the invitation for other brands of exotic cars to plan a day trip down to visit the estate and showcase their vehicles. That’s big news for owners of other marquees like Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and custom American muscle classics and exotics like the Ford GT. You see, originally, the rumor spread that Ferrari club guys were not going to allow non-owners to visit or other car models on the private acres if we tried to attend.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will be on display

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will be on display

What did Dennis Gilligan say when he heard that other exotic car club members were not being included in the Ferrari event invitation? “Are you kidding? My place is huge. Everyone I know in the Ferrari club is friendly and loves all kinds of cars. Everybody is welcome.” The Gilligan family says, “Bring your Exotic Car (or boat for that matter as dock slips/anchorage are available) and share our home and pool overlooking Rock Creek.  Reservations [on the main field] will be limited to the first 75 Exotic Cars and there is room to display 75 more [for a total of 150 cars on display next year].” Dennis also indicated that there is ample parking for all methods of transportation on his land. All he’s asked is that the Ferrari field, as a Ferrari club sanctioned event, exotic or show cars, and daily driver commuter parking be kept separate for the purpose of photography and creating ambiance. See how easy it is to attend an FCA-MAR event? [Tisk, tisk to those non-affiliated folks spreading silly exclusionary gossip in the chat rooms and by private messages on forums.] Included in the cost of admission is a catered lunch by Annapolis favorite barbecue restaurant Adam’s Ribs. Cost of entry includes beverages, “All the sodas and beer your can drink” says Dennis (sorry kids — 21 and up on the alcoholic beverages and yes, ID will be checked). The cost, just $45.00 per person, is fully tax deductible with 100% of the proceeds provided to the Hospice of the Chesapeake. You do not need to own or be showing an exotic car to participate in this event. All guests over the age of 16 are welcome; please contact the event host to make special arrangements for wheelchair or handicapped participants.

Early registrants planing to display cars sent check by postal mail to the event location address:  Dennis Gilligan, 1316 Water Oak Drive, Pasadena, MD 21122. Late car show entries should immediately email the EXOTIC CAR EXAMINER at cafecars@gmail.com to express interest in joining the show this weekend (and include .jpg photos of their car along with make, model, year, and other pertinent contact details for the Gilligans to help be prepared for post-event coverage).

Please email Dennis Gilligan (dennisgilligan@comcast.net) or call 410-320-5878 for more information about the Gilligan’s Island Event, including for assistance with directions.

Expect Dennis Gilligan and son Conor of Craftsmen Developers to help host an awards ceremony featuring People’s Choice and various door prizes.

New Four Passenger Lamborghini ESTOQUE: High Road Auto Group’s Neil Stylinksi Speaks Up in a Review of the New FOUR DOOR SEDAN Concept

PARIS Lamborghini Estoque

Concept Car Debut

Author: Neil Stylinski Web Exclusive

Wednesday October 1 2008 View Gallery

Excerpt from the NEW High Road Auto Group Newsletter Online Article Review

Baltimore Loves Lamborghini
Baltimore Loves Lamborghini…

Lamborghini apparently couldn’t contain its excitement about the concept car it calls Estoque, named for a bullfighter’s rapier [sword]. Slated for a formal reveal October 2, 2008 at the Paris Motor Show, the four-place, four-door sports sedan was shown off today in full-view, hi-res photos. And we can now see why Sant’Agata is so excited. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Estoque Paris Preview

Technical details are scant at this point. But the company is categorizing the drivetrain layout as mid-engine, the motor being located behind the front axle on a long 10-ft wheelbase. Naturally, all-wheel-drive is part of the mix, as is a suspension worthy of the supercar this is.

The company says the Estoque is but one of “several possibilities for a third model series in the Lamborghini product line-up.” We can only hope. In the meantime, check out the gallery by following the “read more” link. We’ll let you know how it goes in Paris this week.

Early Preview (August 4, 2008) to get a sense of the Estoque’s lines and proportions, watch this animation… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GorXpZ…

Christian Siriano at Maserati of Baltimore: Pictures from Drive 2 Thrive are beginning to Arrive… and MOBEXOTICS puts out a call for photos to add to FLICKR

CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE MOBEXOTICS FLICKR PHOTO BLOG TO SEE PICTURES OF CHRISTIAN SIRIANO AND THE FASHION EVENT OF THE SEASON “DRIVE 2 THRIVE” AT MASERATI OF BALTIMORE

Calling all camera lovers and fashionistas. Maserati of Baltimore invites photo submissions to thank Christian Siriano for coming home to Baltimore to help raise funds for Literacy and our area’s children.

Christian Siriano at Maserati of Baltimore for Drive 2 Thrive pictures compliments of Bianca Williams of Echelon Life

Ladies and gentlemen, time is of the essence and the Drive 2 Thrive Christian Siriano Maserati event photos are beginning to arrive. With a few days to rest and recover, we are anxiously awaiting to see what each persons “take” on the event was… with everyone’s cameras flashing, we want to see this event through the lenses of the public you.

Here’s the deal. Think of our request as your opportunity to sign a big thank you note.

We have the event setup photos posted and have all the photos back and posted that were returned to us from Echelon Life to date. Now, it’s up to the photographers and press to send us back any pictures they have of the event. Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to contribute their items. Send one or two photographs, send a hundred. It’s all up to you.

Did we say YOU? Yes–Help us tell Christian THANK YOU!

If your camera holds a few glamorous clear, artistic, or special friend photos of the “Drive 2 Thrive” nights events, please submit them to Jack & Kae Davis at mobexotics@gmail.com. Please indicate the names of guests, designers, vendors, or models if known. Include your name, website, email, press resource, or photography company represented so Maserati of Baltimore can give appropriate credit and trackback links so viewers who love your photos or photography skills can get back with you.

Don’t be bashful! Submit your own pictures and stand up as a friend of the MOB EXOTICS staff and crew. If you are feeling clever, write a few sentences, a paragraph, or a little story to go with each photo–and sign your electronic signature so we can give credit. Tell us how you found our event and if you love our cars, which one is the ultimate fashion accessory. It’s your chance to say hello to Maserati of Balitmore and let Christian Siriano know how much you love his designs.

Maserati of Baltimore wants to give back to… the Greater Baltimore Washington DC region and the International Car Guy World.

"Cigar in the Bottle" won the hearts of Baltimore Luxury Product Aficionados

We are here for the community as a whole–and appreciate being able to give back to Baltimore for all the love they have shown our dealership and all the great things these charity benefits and fund raiser drives are able to do. It’s not exactly a contest, but we’ll leave it open to the web to decide which are the most popular photos, how many have been declared a favorite, and we’ll post the results right here next month after we’ve had a chance to review.

Photographs of the Photographer? A novel idea... meet our new friend Matthew D'Agostino. Thanks, Matt!

Vendors–send in your logos and website links (we’re putting them up as a thank you). Volunteers–include your favorite fan photography picture of you and one of our exotic cars (becuase we could not have done all this work without you).

Models who were in the show are welcome to include their name, contact information or modeling agency representative, and favorite offsite portfolio shot, too. We meant it when we said we’d be sure to give all the credit for the car show’s tremendous success to the most elegant of Baltimore’s Youth.

Sincerely, we could not have done it without everyone. THANK YOU.

Bottom line, we (Maserati of Baltimore) were so appreciative of how hard everyone worked to make this special night such an astounding success, we want to be sure to follow though by giving some equally favorable kind words and public opportunity for friendly professional recognition back to you.

Thank you, everyone, for not only enjoying an evening filled with the sparkle and roar of Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini in Baltimore while hanging out with our local stars, but for dazzling us by creating such beautiful scenery of a glam scene with our exotic cars.
