December 30, 2008 Holiday Tour of Lights Night Ride and Dine to Christopher Daniel Restaurant with Maserati of Baltimore

joppa_road_baltimore-county_holiday_lightsWith 2008 coming almost too quickly to a close, Maserati of Baltimore Staff and M.O.B. Exotics friends finally found a night with clear weather and organized their holiday “Ride and Dine”, this time heading out for a Holiday Light tour and a delicious late night relaxing bite at local gourmet hangout Christopher Daniel restaurant back home in Timonium, Maryland.

Breathtaking was the Word of the Night

Cold but above freezing temperatures with clear and bright quarter moon skies gave the team the perfect street conditions for an after dark rally December 30th, 2008. A long busy day helped all participants build an appetite with the two hour light tour relaxing everyone perfectly before dining at local gourmet bistro and Timonium West Padonia road casual restaurant and bar favorite Christopher Daniel (

Miracle on 34th Street Baltimore Style

34th_street_auto_christmas_light_fun_displayLeaving from Maserati of Baltimore, the group headed down I-83 to see the twinkling and locally famous light tour in Hamden.

Residents of the 34th street area have been decorating as a group since 1947, and in 2008 the tradition did not disappoint. Affectionately known as the best “tacky light tour” in town, the neighborhood appeared as magical to local adult and child visitors as a trip to Walt Disney World–without the holiday travel headaches and for a more friendly and cost effective price (free to the public, charity and light strand donations welcomed).

Behind the Scenes in Baltimore County

baltimore_neighborhoods_christmas_lightsFollowing guided routes led by long time Baltimore resident and Maserati of Baltimore Guest Services team Tom and Diane Beckman, the exotic cars from Maserati of Baltimore toured the streets and neighborhoods of Baltimore county sparkling and nice.

Thanks to all the heads up from Maserati of Baltimore clients who like to spend time on the road driving for pleasure, we were able to find some of the best decorated homes around the area off the beaten path. Maryland residents don’t play around when it comes to their Christmas lights. Despite rising energy costs through BGE, everywhere we went we saw holiday houses filled with good will, love, and festive spirit. All were lit for neighbors pleasure–with hardly a house seeming to be missing any touch of decoration on this particular star studded night.

Estate Homes Pretty as a Picture on A Cold Winter’s Night

Knowing the back roads and having mapped out a road rally tour of neighborhoods decorated in a way sure to delight, the group enjoyed viewing many new enclaves of communities around town. What was in store for drivers and passengers was a Holiday Parade of Homes; doing Maryland proud, these homeowners went all out to make sure their houses and streets look bright. Here’s a few of our favorites homes “Better Homes and Gardens” worthy decoration photos from this very special holiday “Play in Traffic” get together on the perfect for driving December night:

Prices range from a fantastic $10 cheeseburger up through the $30+ dollar a plate specials.

maserati_of_baltimore_at_christopher_daniel_restaurant_timoniumTasty comfort food favorite side dishes include Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries, and Potatoes Au Gratin. Serving an assortment of soups, salads, seafood, steaks, and gourmet fare specialties, the restaurant is sure to have something on the menu to please a group, single, or couple on any given night. Add an ample wine list, full bar, easy parking, and a friendly wait staff, and we’re proud to report they treat Maserati of Baltimore customers and staff right.

Enjoy the Ride: Join the M.O.B. Exotics Club on the Road

If you are interested in joining the Maserati of Baltimore M.O.B. Exotics team list of club members who like to head out each month for a casual ride and dine, email Jack or Kae Davis at  The group headed out to the Acropolis restaurant in Baltimore City’s Greek town for a meet up this month in addition to the road rally tour of the festivals of lights. Always open to new ideas and hungry for more opportunities to have more social road time, please feel free to submit your favorite route or restaurant suggestion any time.

Sarah Gilbert Fox of Baltimore Style Magazine Helps Promote Port Discovery Childrens Museum Noontime at New Year Celebration of Everything Italian with Special Guest Maserati of Baltimore

Sarah Gilbert Fox

Town Talk by Sarah Gilbert Fox at Baltimore Style Magazine

Ciao New Year’s Eve in Baltimore

Celebrate the Italian in you—or your Italian spirit. Forget Lindsay Lohan, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.  This year, Baltimore rings in the New Year with more important celebrities.

Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei and Enrico Fermi—The Fathers of Science—will be at Port Discovery all day [December 31, 2008 from 10 am to 5 pm] to discuss their areas of interest. You can ask Galileo how he came to figure out that the laws of nature were mathematical—and how far was the Leaning Tower of Pisa was leaning when he was born (seeing as Pisa was his birthplace).

Now’s your chance to ask Enrico Fermi, the father of nuclear physics, how he felt about the Manhattan project, and having Fermium (Fm) named after him.  And you can ask Divinci, the first to conceptualize solar power—what he thinks of solar energy today; if, between fusing art and natural philosophy together and painting the Sistine Chapel—he ever found time to sleep; and what the heck Mona Lisa was smiling about.

After a combined silence of over 1,000 years (Leo being 556 years old now, Galileo being 444 years old, and young Enrico a mere 107 years old)… these men have a lot to say.  Some come and ask them.

And if science isn’t your thing, Maserati of Baltimore will have a spiffy new car parked in front so you can have your picture made standing along side its mechanical gorgeousness.

Giuliano Cleneza, the Baltimore Blast soccer player, will be out in the field, ready to take on the kids or teach them some mean Banana Kicks; Christopher Columbus, at a mere 555 years of age, will be on hand for photos and to explain how his lack of experience in navigation at sea almost cost him (what we learned in school as) the discovery of the Americas.

Maestro Gianni Toso, will be creating incredible glass sculptures; Francesca Legaluppi will teach kids Italian songs, tra la la la!; and Bob the Vid Tech (from Maryland Public Television) will be bringing the Vid Kid Road Show to help with the Noontime New Year’s Countdown.

And if that’s still not enough to tempt you to come to Port Discovery for New Year’s Eve… consider this.  Parents and kids can do so much together: make pasta, create Venetian masks, put together Italian flags and paint countdown numbers, or watch a Romeo and Juliet puppet show, and eat milk and cookies.  Yep.  Which brings us around to our happy milk and cookies ending to a wonderful 2008!

Noontime New Year activities run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. [on December 31, 2008] and are free with Museum admission. Museum admission is $11.75 for ages 2 and up. Children under 2 and members are free.

Port Discovery Children’s Museum 35 Market Place Baltimore, MD 21202 Directions to Port Discovery Phone: 410.727.8120 Fax: 410.727.3042 Email:

Visitors to Port Discovery’s Noontime Count Down receive an excellent Discount Coupons for Mex in the Power Plant… 20% off the entire check.

The dress code for this special event will be resort casual–and we who have already had the pleasure of dining at private parties thrown by Sweet Lela’s recommend you wear the most comfortable slacks or outfit that has a gentle and forgiving waistline. Translation? Dress for relaxing, lounging about with family friends, and EATING–and don’t plan to be bashful about your enthusiasm. This food is plentiful, truly rich, and amazing.

We’ll be accepting reservations until we have a full house for table seats or until midnight on Wednesday (11/5/2008), whichever comes first. Please indicate how many seats your party will need (the number of guests attending), which menu option that each will prefer (lite fare, full meal, or vegetarian/special dietary optional consideration), and let us know if you will plan to arrive late or leave early so we can save your seats or have doggie bags ready.

Full courses menu option will be available for $35 per person and entitle guests to antipasto, soup, salad, pasta entree, decadent desert sample plate, ice cream, and coffee bar.

Vegetarian or special dietary needs will be accommodated to the best of our availability. Please allow ample advance notice in writing by email so we can be sure the restaurant will have your special order ready, with your name on it, and waiting.

“Doggie Bags” will be provided to all guests who wish to take home their unfinished meals or to save a bite for later when they are too full to finish eating. We’re also happy to reserve meals to go for anybody who would like to take extra portions home for the fridge, Monday lunch, or those who want to make it but can’t due to schedules conflicting.

byob-byow-to-mobPlease note that the evening’s event is BYOB (been and wine encouraged, hard liquor welcome, specialty favorite non-alcoholic drinks for drivers encouraged).

The party itself will begin at 3pm with registration, payment, and check in; Sweet Lela’s daddy and market Cafe owner Antonio “Tony” Iacampo will be on site to greet all guests and to serve antipasto platters family style from 3-5pm. Delicious entree portions will be served as table sit down from 5-6pm. Desserts and cafe style mingling will be from 6-7pm to round out the authentic Italian family dining experience. Throughout the evening, Tony and manager “Vincenzo” will be filling in the gaps between courses of food by regaling diners with stories of both cultural and food preparation history.

In addition to honoring Italian heritage traditions, we are also “Sunday Sports” tradition friendly. With several of the Raven’s wives and staff expected to join us for the meal, we’ll also have the away game on for spectator viewing on the plasma screen TV in the galley.

Maserati of Baltimore is Located at 1628 York Road in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland

Dinner itself will be served round table style in the M.O.B. Exotics Gallery and lucky dining guests will be able to check out the newest in Maserati and Lamborghini automobiles and the finest Ferrari cars while relaxing between bites of everything decadent and tasty. By keeping tables open and easily set up for conversing, all our guests are sure to enjoy listening to stories about the old country, exotic car history, and world traveling freely and openly.

In a world of distance, separation, and bumper to bumper road rage traffic, Maserati of Baltimore is the one place in the world where you can always count on the people being genuine, authentic, and friendly. If you have not been to one of the events yet and are hesitating because you are not sure if you’ll know anyone, stop hesitating and come on…

As far as we’re concerned (Jack, the Guest Services Team, and I), there are no strangers in the world: there are only friends we have not met yet. We hope to see you soon. Until then, keep safe and play in traffic.

M.O.B. Exotics Exotic Car Gallery and Race Fan Boutique Open Late for Halloween Haunting at Maserati of Baltimore Friday October 31, 2008

Happy Halloween from M.O.B.

Happy Halloween from M.O.B. Exotics

Looking for a place to mingle with friends and stay out of the cold on Halloween night? Take a special trip up to Maserati of Baltimore on Friday October 31st for a frighteningly fun night with the Baltimore area Children’s Guild volunteers and the M.O.B. Exotics Guest Services team.

Conveniently located at 1630 York Road in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland between 695 and the Maryland State Fairgrounds, we know there will be plenty of opportunities for Trick-or-Treating in the nearby Baltimore County communities.

The team at M.O.B. Exotics will be on hand with hot cocoa, cappuccino, espresso, herbal tea, and a big batch of warm spiced apple cider to take the chill out of the evening. Folks without young ghouls in tow will be treated to friendly company and “Race Shop Livations” to warm the spirits of the oldest souls and given a comfortable seat so they can stay off the roads during all trick-or-treating hours safely while enjoying a bit of the atmosphere an exotic car museum or dealership brings to any community.

Throughout the night, we’ll have bits and bites of sweet treats to tide us through. For the Mbalt staff and client friends, we’ll have light dinner snacks delivered around 8pm, too.

Parents and Visitors dropping by will be able to pick up a special treat of their own–a coupon for an appointment for a ride and drive in a 2009 Maserati Quattroporte that can be redeemed any time between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Even better, each person arriving dressed in their finest race car driver apparel or will be given an additional “hot seat” ticket to ride shotgun in a Maserati 2009 Granturismo or 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo any time between now and New Years Eve.

We’ll have our cameras ready to capture the moment of any costumed visitors we might see–and photos after the date will be available in the October 2008 photo collection at

Beyond costumes, I think you can tell by the photos that the Davis family (Jack, Kae, and Drew) also take their pumpkin carving quite seriously. Yes, they really carved the ghoulish goodies you see posted here above–with General Manager Jack Davis carving the most fashionable new Jack-o-Lanterns that would make the chic-est headless horseman Ferrari pumpkin attire the car guy world has ever seen.

If you have a masterpiece in mind you would like to come and carve and leave on display at our store for safe and fun display and photography Halloween evening, we are happy to have visitors utilize our wash bay area and large folding tables as a craft project area any time from 3pm-6pm throughout the week (October 27-31). And more…

Bring a carved pumpkin, candy to distribute, or extra pumpkins for Maserati of Baltimore to help decorate our showroom for the evening and receive a complimentary car wash from our Lot Porters on the Guest Services Team.

Each person who comes in costume or dressed in full Race related attire will also be eligible for a 20% discount on any boutique merchandise purchased any time Thursday October 30, Friday October 31, and Saturday November 1, 2008. Contact Parts and Boutique Manager Vincent Veiga for more information about other merchandise specials for Lamborghini, Maserati, and Ferrari fiends.

Maserati of Baltimore Guest Services team wants to extend thanks to all our rider guests and the parade organizers from Columbus Celebrations, INC. Thank you for allowing us to participate in the celebration October 12, 2008. We were so honored to chauffeur Baltimore’s Italian American special VIP guests and local award winners, including the Italian consulate, through the streets of downtown Baltimore.

Your group has done our own Italian family girls proud (Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris). Landing at the end of the parade in the heart of Little Italy, we were overwhelmingly wowed at the outpouring of love, pride, and community support that welcomed Maserati of Baltimore’s M.O.B. Exotics Cars into the community.

In addition, we want to say a special word of thanks to Will and Donna Matriciani for connecting us with Nick Vaccaro this summer. For those of you who participated and remember, Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry Shop, INC was one of the sweet treat sponsors at the 2008 Maserati of Baltimore Rally for the Troops.

On cookie overload, the guests and visitors who braved Tropical Storm Hanna to come out in Baltimore and show their love and support for the USO Metro and our brave American Troops helped raise some sweet cash to keep the moral of our soldiers flying in and out through BWI, DCA, and IAD airports high. All the proceeds of the day were used to help fund the soldier lounges that are used by all our American heroes coming in and out of the DC Metro region.

If you have not eaten Vaccaro’s Italian Pastries or been to one of their fantastic locations yet, visit to find out more information about their fantastic dessert selections. Special Thanks to Nick Vaccaro and Staff for taking such good care of the Maserati of Baltimore Team after the Parade.
